Abortion

Trigger states poised to ban abortions if Roe is overturned should realize they will become poorer if they do so.  Tax revenues will decline as richer, more mobile people leave these states for states more respectful of their rights.  Trigger states will be left with poorer people who cannot afford to move and don’t pay taxes.  Another consequence will be more abandoned babies and more money needed for child services and other infrastructure as poor people are forced to have babies they can’t afford.  People don’t plan their lives around abortions, but they would rather be someplace where it is possible if it is needed.

Republican Myths

Small government has traditionally been a fundamental plank in the Republican platform.  Now it has become small government except between a woman’s legs, where they want total government control.

If inflation has been caused by the Democrats, as Republicans claim, why is it a worldwide phenomenon?

How Stupid?

When gas was 10 cents a gallon, the 9/10ths of a cent tacked on the sticker price was a significant marketing tool adding to profits.  Now that gas is $5/gallon, it is downright insulting.

When it first arrived, cable TV was supposed to be the fix to the bad path network TV was taking.  Now, with more commercials than ever, expensive packages forcing unwanted stations on us, and relentless price creep, it has become the problem.  Greed killed Blockbuster and it will kill cable.

Putin actually has some Russians convinced that Ukrainians are Nazis.  Too bad he doesn’t own the Brooklyn Bridge; he could try to sell it.

White people have become sensitive about Critical Race Theory.  Black people most likely think that is stupid.

How stupid is it to have to spend all this energy on abortion when we have so many more devastating problems like immigration, healthcare, gun control, education, infrastructure, and climate change?

The Electoral College and Senate confirmation process is an outdated ruse on true democracy.  The proof is that a Supreme Court justice can be approved by a Senate vote representing only 17% of the population.
